Unauthorised medical colleges in Punjab

LAHORE: More than 20 private medical colleges operating in the Punjab or about to open do not have permission from the Punjab government, according to data collected by Daily Times and a list obtained by the University of Health Sciences. These colleges include the Ace Institute of Health Sciences, Lahore; Bhutta Medical College, Faisalabad; College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lahore; Gulshan Ara Physiotherapy Post Graduate Institute; Islamabad Medical and Dental College; Islamia Paramedical Institute, Bahawalpur; Jinnah Paramedical Institute, Sialkot; Khalid Paramedical Institute, Okara; Paramedical Academy, Islamabad; Quaid-e-Azam Paramedical College, Jhelum; Shahabal Paramedical Institute Polyclinic, Jhang; Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Lahore; Usama Education Trust, Lahore; Wah Medical College, Wah Cantt; Noor Memorial Homoeopathic Medical Degree College and Hospital; Sheikhupura Paramedical College; and Gilani Ultrasound Research and Education Institute. —Waqar Gillani
